You may recognize the guitar riff of the above song, "Straight To Hell"--it's the sample featured in M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes." But not technically, since the above video is Lily Allen's take on the Clash original for the War Child Heroes album. Allen's version is bent to her whims--poppy, really mellow--but it's a very faithful cover of the album. If anything, it's more happy than the original.

This strikes me as a pretty sad attempt on Lily Allen's part to capitalize on the popularity of "Paper Planes." But then again, it's all for a good cause. And didn't the original artists handpick the cover artists on this comp? So conflicting!
