While Amy Winehouse has been busy building up her reputation as the distaff Pete Doherty,
Lily Allen has been a productive gal, working up songs for her next album. If the clip that's just been posted to her MySpace page is any
indication, it might be even better than her debut. "Guess Who Batman" is an unabashed assault on an unnamed foe, but in her MySpace blog, Allen mentions the British National Party as an inspiration. For those who don't follow U.K. politics, the notoriously racist/homophobic/right-wing BNP is basically the KKK with cockney accents and sans white robes. Most importantly, Allen keeps the catchy pop quotient of this tune as high as that of her previous efforts, instantly making it more powerful than a battalion of earnest folkie diatribes.
Great track, great message, great artist!
