We have some good news for all you Lil Wayne fans out there. His Sorry 4 The Wait mixtape is apparently dropping in four days. As you might have inferred from its title, the project is meant to serve as an apology to everyone patiently waiting for Tha Carter IV. And if its first leak is any indication, Sorry 4 The Wait will feature Weezy spitting over a series of industry beats -- kind of like what he did on No Ceilings.
"Tunechi's Back" borrows the beat from Meek Mill and Rick Ross' "Tupac Back," a track that has been reinterpreted by numerous rappers paying homage to their favorite deceased artist. Unlike those tracks, though, Weezy's version pays homage to...himself. And you would think that might inspire him, but he sounds kind of bored here. Well, except for toward the end when he tells lesser MCs to focus on writing their wills instead of their raps. Ouch.
You can stream "Tunechi's Back" below. Sorry 4 The Wait is due out July 13.
