Is anyone buying that Lil Wayne really feels bad about being turned down by the prom queen in high school? Sure, dude may have gotten turned down then, but now he's really got nothing to complain about. Lil Wayne is definitely not emo.
So why does he insist on furthering his emo cred in the video for "Prom Queen," the lead single from his "rock" album that might not be released. The clip is a literal interpretation of the lyrics, with Wayne loathing the fact that prom queen didn't like him in high school, but now that he's the number one rapper alive, she might take an interest in him. Wayne uses most of the video to show off his supposed rock chops (he plays drums, guitar, and bass) and to give cameos to the remaining non-evangelical dudes in Korn, for some reason. This thing is a mess--from the song down to the video. Wayne would be better off if the full-length never comes out.
As a bonus to remind you that Lil Wayne isn't just a pretty lame rocker, here's Lil Wayne in a pretty funny interview with Jimmy Kimmel where he, Charlie Gibson, and Kimmel talk about Wayne's impending court date, his diamond teeth, and about losing his virginity at 11. Wayne seems moderately high, but it's way more entertaining than "Prom Queen." [NahRight]
