Yesterday we had Lil Wayneemoting about a prom queen over emo-lite guitars, and now we get Lil Wayne referencing Green Day and repping his Young Money record label over a pretty boring drum line and mostly pointless guitars. The song is a head-scratching mash-up that mixes a backing singer-bolstered chorus with a strange rapping verse, and a reggae-tinged interlude. In short, it's a total mess.
The final track list for Rebirth hasn't been announced, so there's no telling if this will end up on Wayne's rock opus. [TSS]
I saw Lil Wayne in concert on Saturday evening here in Vancouver. It was good. With one day of positive reflection... i woke up Monday to news of a new leaked track, Prom Queen. Weezies "Rock Album" was a joke that i thought id never hear the punchline to. Now.. two days in a row i try to laugh but instead just shake my head.
crap. This is worse than the song that leaked yesterday.

This song's awesome! He takes risks with music and it's about time musicians started mixing genres. Nelly did it earlier but it didn't catch on. And now Wayne's doing it. He's a musical genius.
