“Like Smoke” F. Nas

    As we reported earlier this week, a posthumous Amy Winehouse album, Lioness: Hidden Treasures, is due out Dec. 6. Among several alternate takes and covers, there are some proper new tracks that likely would have landed on her follow-up to Back to Black. One of those cuts is “Like Smoke,” a chills-inducing burner featuring one of Winehouse’s favorite artists, Nas.

    You might remember that it was eventually revealed that her song “Me and Mr. Jones” was actually about the Queensbridge rapper, who is nothing short of terrific here. Apparently a majority of “Like Smoke” was recorded in 2008, though it’s obvious Nas laid down at least one of his verses relatively recently.
