Light Asylum: "Skull Fuct" (Video)
Brooklyn-based duo Light Asylum impressed last year with their “Dark Allies” single, which showed of their knack for teaming Shannon Funchess’s meaty vocals with compelling electro grooves. That formula has been revisited for “Skull Fuct,” also drawn from last year's In Tension EP, which has been given the suitably dark video below. This kind of confrontational approach borders on the bluster of industrial music at times, but there’s a commitment and passion at work here that feels unequaled among their peers in the contemporary Brooklyn scene. The debut Light Asylum album is promised on Mexican Summer in May, and is likely to gain plenty of well-deserved attention judging from the tracks we’ve heard to date.
