Liars: "Scissor" (Video)

Liars video">Wired and the Liars website are now hosting the above new video for "Scissors", the lead single from the full length Sisterworld due March 8th on Mute.

The song itself has a nice mixture of sad and creepy choral vocals that give way to the kind of rocking freak-out second section that will be familiar to any fans of 2007's eponymous Liars album.  In fact, it doesn't do a great deal more than that, but is none the worse for it.

The video for the track mimics its repeated structure with singer, Angus Andrew, attempting to throw rocks out of two separate life-boats.  While it might not be the most exciting visual accompaniment I've seen for a Liars track, it does have a kind of eerie, naturalistic quality that suits the creepy tone of the song.  Likewise, it's nice to get the impression that Liars are more interested in producing consistently great music as opposed to shocking new changes in musical direction.
