“Let’s Go”

Brooklyn’s Yasiin Bey and New Orleans’ own, Mannie Fresh, have been working together, and apparently finished, recording a collaborative album, OMFGOD. Though no release date for the record has been given, Mannie stopped by NPR’s Microphone Check over the weekend, and there he shared “Let’s Go,” a track set to be on the duo’s upcoming album.

“Let’s Go” begins with a bold warning for listeners: “Ladies and Gentlemen: A Classic,” before Bey explains multiple times that “before I chose the path, the path chose me/this Allaha’s plan, divine degree.” Bey and Fresh have been around long enough that their style’s and reputations precede them, and when Bey raps “it’s no joke with a winning smile/and one voice, with many styles,” the beat switches up, Bey transitions into a sing-song flow, and than Fresh changes it all again.
