It's been a year of change for Lesands. After garnering buzz from CMJ last fall, the trio has relocated from San Diego to Los Angeles and transformed its sound from bright, airy synth-pop to dark, romantic pop noir.
The three-piece is gearing up to release a new EP, and today we are excited to premiere the music video for the album's first single, "Prism." The band's ecclectic range of influences (Mariah Carey, Kate Bush, Michael Jackson) shine through on this track, which is an effective blend of electronica, R&B and pop. Lesands couldn't have chosen better imagery for the song's visual component. Directed by Steven Yatsko, the avant-garde video features snippets of sultry models interchanged with clips of the band. The pacing and editing is dead-on.
