The week-long tribute to Bob Marley on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, which featured Lauryn Hill and Chris Cornell, came to an end last night with Lenny Kravitz's cover of "Roots, Rock, Reggae." Fittingly, he enlisted the help of Fallon's house band, the Roots, and some back-up singers to perform the track, which stems from Marley's 1976 album with the Wailers, Rastaman Vibration, It's a pretty spot-on cover, with the only difference being a vibrant boost in the rhythm section. Otherwise, the band's version of "Roots, Rock, Reggae" is about as close to the original as you can get, even down to Kravitz doing his best rastaman impression.
