Lemonade: "Lifted"
Mutant pop trio Lemonade are going to release their Pure Moods EP March 9 on True Panther, and the first advance track from the EP, "Lifted," is available for download at Pitchfork. The group's usual day-glo tribalism is a bit restrained on the track, as the vocal melody is allowed to take over most of the track's space and the listener's attention. Really, the lyrics and melody could absolutely belong to a Justin Bieber song, but tempered by the psychedelic tropicalia of Lemonade's instrumentation, that's a credit.
