Lee Ranaldo: "Off The Wall" (Video)
We’ve already heard Lee Ranaldo’s “Off the Wall” from his forthcoming Between the Tides and the Times, but now comes an official video for the track. The live footage was shot at Glasslands in Brooklyn, which is interspersed with clips Ranaldo shot himself. This is the kind of track Sonic Youth fans have doubtless hoped he would branch out into on a solo project—it’s got all the warmth and emotional intensity of classic Ranaldo cuts like “Hey Joni” and “Mote.” There’s still some time until Between the Tides and the Times is with us—it’s not released until March 20—but it looks like it’s going to be worth the wait.
