Let's agree: we all love the Muppets. The mere sight of a Muppet is enough to produce a tsunami of nostalgia and joy that inundates any sense of ill will. To the point that even an un-Henson production of Muppetry will make us go nuts. Why hasn’t anyone tapped this power to establish world peace?
Big ideas start small, so for now we have Javier Douglas and Joel Roberts’ unofficial video for LCD Soundsystem’s “Dance Yrself Clean.” And, judging by yesterday's online reaction to the video, it's safe to say it will henceforth be known as that LCD Soundsystem video with plural Muppets. Why just have one when you can quadruple the pleasure?
The video cuts between the Muppets performing the song, strolling on (the other) Brighton Beach, frolicking through a carnival and partying to the sounds of DJ Animal. Of course, the centerpiece is the Beatles-esque rooftop (well, in this case, a balcony) performance. Animal is on drums (of course), Cookie on keys (where was Rowlf?), Kermit reprises his “New York, I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down” vocals and Miss Piggy spazzes in a decidedly un-Nancy Whang way.
In related PBS nostalgia news, did anyone else catch Levar Burton singing the Reading Rainbow theme on Community?

Um, sure...when I was six.

Only if you're in your second childhood, or your first dementia.

Uh...world peace? Muppets?
You've haven't been filling your prescriptions lately, have you?
