A number of songs from Ladytron’s forthcoming
Velocifero are streaming on the band’s
MySpace page. They’ve also released the video for the first single from the album, titled “Ghosts.” The song begins with a little glam stomp before singer Helen Marnie wraps her ice-cold vocals around some trademark bursts of steely electronica. The intermittent howls of screaming guitar that made a welcome addition to the band’s arsenal on
Witching Hour also make a welcome return. The video is a dusty affair that was shot in the Joshua Tree desert. There’s not enough Mira in the clip (as several YouTube commenters have noted), but it does feature a spectacularly poor attempt at smashing up a car by Danny and Reuben.
