A Bob Dylan-esque social consciousness runs through the video for K'naan's "The Great Depression," which illustrates the MC's lyrics about markets collapsing, Barack Obama, and world hunger. It's not all Debbie Downer stuff though--the video has a Wizard of Oz reminiscent switch from black and white to color images when images of K'naan performing live and a sunrise come around, and the overall tone of the song is cautiously optimistic.
This dude's CD is gonna be a classic. Can't waite til it drops on Feb. 24th. They say hip-hop is dead but it's alive. U just gotta look 4 it. His other songs on the CD is vicious too. If ur sick of 50 Cent & clowns like him get this CD!!!!!!!
Man
He's performed this live in the past, and from what the preview stream is on the myspace, as well as other sources, this is not a track on the album. It's also (supposed) to be a collab with Damon Albarn....here's hoping it's an extra. Loving the rest of the album, can't wait for tuesday.
