K'naan , Mos Def: Live On Austin City Limits (Video)

Austin City Limits doesn't get a lot of hip-hop guests for several reasons, such as the lyrical content of many rappers being too crass or obscene. But the PBS program invited these two like-minded MCs last October to perform brief sets. The above video is of K'naan's "Wavin' Flag," which is off his very good 2009 effort, Troubadour. "Wavin' Flag," one of six cuts he performed, is also the theme song for the Africa part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup tour. As for Mos Def, the below clip features a live version of "Umi Says," a personal favorite of mine from his classic debut, Black On Both Sides. The majority of his set, though, is dedicated to The Ecstatic, which was ranked 10 in the Prefix readers poll for best album of 2009.
