The last thing anyone wants to hear from KISS is new material, but Gene Simmons and his band have a new-ish album out titled Sonic Boom, and appeared on Jay Leno’s show last night (July 19) to promote it. Sadly, the former Spacemen 3 frontman of the same name fails to make an appearance on the record or on Leno.
The cringe-inducing “Modern Day Delilah” is KISS by numbers, with screeched vocals and a guitar solo coming just when you expect it, all set to the requisite flames shooting up into the sky behind the band. Simmons, who is now 60, clearly still loves prancing around in makeup and heels, and he’s likely to keep churning this stuff out until the cash stops flowing in or the music industry collapses completely.
