Kings of Leon: "Radioactive" And "Pyro" (Live On SNL) (Videos)

· by

Kings of Leon, the band with the most indie kid defections in recent years*, appeared on SNL this weekend, busting out "Radioactive" (aka "River of Dreams 2010") and "Pyro" (ouch). "Radioactive" is above, and it's at, the very least, not as awful as that "Use Somebody" that got everybody's 50-year-old aunt way into Kings of Leon. "Pyro," not so much. That's below.

*- Seriously. Remember how five years ago they were the band indie kids were sort of fond of, despite scathing Pitchfork reviews? They were the only band like that, pretty much. Not anymore.

Honestly, I was very into Aha Shake Heartbreak (although, I wasn't into the stuff that came before it). I mean, I can't change the channel fast enough with these guys now, but they had some good stuff out there for a bit. I mean, The Bucket? That was a good song.

"Aha Shake Heartbreak" was really good and the earlier stuff had a lot of of energy. It was only when they tried to become U2 they lost the plot (and me).

By the way, Pitchfork did like their first EP, "Holy Roller Novocaine" but didn't like their first album, which was a bit ridiculous since the first album contained every song from that EP but one.
