Kings of Leon's transition into a southern U2 continues unabated with the floaty "Beach Side," the new single from the group's upcoming Come Around Sundown. The track is all shimmering guitars, yowled vocals, and generic to the point of me forgetting what this sounds like literally as soon as it was over. The thought of these guys as a more shit-kicking version of the Strokes is dead and buried by now, folks. Listen below.

I can't believe they're going with this for the next single from the record. It's not even catchy....and if I had to declare a song on this CD as filler it would most certainly be Beach Side. Plus, but not that it matters to me, there is absolutely no hit potential whatsoever.
