Kidz In The Hall: "The Grizzly Man" (MP3 - Download)

Kidz In The Hall always seems to exist on the fringes of both mainstream and underground hip-hop circles. The duo of Naledge and Double-O have dropped a pair of solid, albeit flawed, albums that have caught the eye of MTV and other mainstream outlets. But these guys just never really took off. "The Grizzly Man" is the Kidz's latest track and first off their upcoming free EP Professional Leisure Tour. It also acts as a prelude to their third album, Land Of Make Believe, which drops in 2010. But, perhaps most interestingly, "The Grizzly Man" flips a sample of Grizzly Bear's widely adored "Two Weeks." The samples, particularly the piano loop and soaring vocals, are obvious, but producer Double-O handles them well. If only those damn drums he used knocked a little more.

Professional Leisure Tour will hit blogs everywhere Dec. 8.

I think they took off with their last album or are pretty close. I think they sampled Grizzly Bear well on this song.

I agree, but they really need to establish their own voice. I'm hoping that happens on the next record. Everything from them sounds too much like other artists to me, even though I like KitH. For example, "Drivin' Down The Block" is great, but it sounds just like a Clipse song.
