Kidz in the Hall's "Grizzly Man" is totally indie-crowd baiting, but I have fallen for it, hook line and sinker. The song samples Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks" (which features a piano figure similar to Dr. Dre's "Still D.R.E.") in a micro-soul kind of way, coming off like how Kanye would handle sampling the track. I find this way more enjoyable than anything off Kidz in the Hall's latest album, Land of Make Believe, though that's probably the point of the song; to capture fans of Grizzly Bear who wouldn't be interested in Kidz In The Hall in other circumstances.
Land of Make Believe is out now.
I just love that his high-life fantasy is having eggs and orange juice in a messy apartment. Apparently, I'm living the dream!
