In an interview with Pitchfork, Kid Sister said her long-delayed debut album, Ultraviolet, would have a hip-house vibe, and first single "Right Hand Hi" certainly bears that out; it's got a pulsating synth rush beat buoyed by programmed drums. The beat reminds me of Cadence Weapon's Afterparty Babies. It's no "Pro Nails," but then again, I could imagine this getting radio play. You can stream "Right Hand Hi" at Kid Sister's MySpace now.
Ultraviolet is due out on Oct. 6 via Downtown. [via Pitchfork]
