Kid Cudi: "Mr. Rager" prod. Kanye West

His music does not always deliver vocally or lyrically, but Kid Cudi is like the Rick Ross of emo/sing-song rap. The production was rarely disappointing on Cudi's debut, if at all. And, after hearing tracks like "Mr. Rager," the same can be said for his sophomore effort. This cut finds Cudi flaunting a mixture of monotone back-up vocals and range-less crooning, aka exactly what he did throughout the first Man on the Moon.

But just like on that record, he's doing it over a perfectly concocted beat from Kanye West. Yeezy has layered a number of instruments on "Mr. Rager," from hand claps to a climbing guitar lick to ambient noises that sound like water dripping from a leaky faucet. I get the feeling he had some help on this one, though, perhaps from the boys of Ratatat.

You can hear "Mr. Rager" over at 2DopeBoyz. Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager is due out Oct. 26.

Yeah, dude, your name is so gay, whatever that means. Agreed on Cudi not being good lyrically. He never actually says anything at all.
