The unremarkable musical career of lightweight Brit rockers Keane continued in exactly the same vein as it started back in 2004 with this performance of “Stop For a Minute” for Jimmy Kimmel’s show last night (July 22). This track is taken from the recent EP Night Train, which topped the album chart in the band’s native U.K.
Singer Tom Chaplin has never been a very convincing frontman, and he looks embarrassed to be on stage during this performance—you’d think by now he’d be more comfortable in the role, but when the music is this flimsy, it’s perhaps unsurprising that he’s not able to be a commanding presence. This is one of the least memorable late night TV talk show clips so far this year, and that’s really saying something.
