Kanye West followed up his extravagant Coachella appearance at the weekend with a similarly outré performance on the American Idol results show last night (April 21). He teamed up with Kate Perry to bring this version of “E.T.” to the stage, which was executed with suitably Barbarella-esque absurdity. You can’t beat the sight of Perry, covered in pink LED lights, being pushed around on some kind of ostentatious throne by scantily clad dancers before West appears through a trap door in the stage with a fur draped over his shoulders. It's like Wild Boys never happened.
