Katy Perry

Electric Feel (MGMT Cover - MP3)

Average Rating: 3.83

If making her likeness into a doll makes your eyes roll, than Katy Perry’s cover of MGMT will cause your eyeballs to spin out of their sockets.

Actually that might be too much excitement for this boring cover of MGMT’s, “Electric Feel.”

I mean, come on.  Is this cover even necessary.  She does no justice in advancing the creativity of the song.  She only dumbs it down to caveman like simplicty using some sorta of electro, pop soul schtick.

You can download it for free- like that makes a difference.  Sigh. [My Old Kentucky Blog]

I was getting sick of hearing this song everywhere, but this might be the nail in the coffin.

ugh, she's annoying. i wouldn't be surprised to be see this song being covered by every single band in the world in the next few months.

What are you guys talking about? It's an awesome cover of a great song. For your information it was recorded for a British Album called Radio 1 Live Lounge, where people do covers of each others songs. Look it up. Really quite good.

are you that narrow-minded about everything? or did katy perry personally piss you off?

it's not that bad. it may not be your style, yes, but that doesn't make it bad. i find it painful to listen to the beatles and ac/dc... but that doesn't make them bad.

I prefer this to the original, I think. SO SHUT YO MOUTH MAN

And as for hearing this song everywhere... The first time I heard it was on live lounge when Katy was covering it! That's what got me into MGMT.

I like this version because it is very relaxing, and her voice is not nearly as strange as the MGMT lead singer's voice. But the lyrics fit the song in absolutely NO way. She could have chosen a more serene song to remake, but she chose a song that's supposed to be filled with action? Really?

well, i don't think that katy is a bad singer, but this music really sucks, i really prefer MGMT, i hated this music in her voice.
