Katy Perry's one woman army of faux-lesbianism continues with "California Gurls," her airy new single with Snoop Dogg that is allegedly due out on her third album, which is due out later this year. The song is heavily indebted, at least sonically, to the Euro-pop of Robyn (with more than a dash of Ke$ha), and it's basically a musical version of the video for David Lee Roth's cover of the Beach Boys' "California Girls." I suppose that's a compliment if that's what they were going for here. You can listen at NahRight. I have a feeling this isn't a mastered version, since Perry's vocals are kind of buried here. Not that you'll want to hear them, though.
