Kate Nash is hoping to parlay modest debut sales following insane MySpace hype into a lasting career with her sophomore album, Crayon Full of Colour. While her past material has been heavy on the cutesiness, her new single, "I Just Love You More" showcases a X-Ray Spex/Ponytail influence, along with early-90s riotgrrls. It's a disarming change, and not at all expected. Which is more than you can say for the British chanteuses Nash used to share a headspace with. That is unless Adele comes out with a single like this, which I think would make VH1 viewers' heads implode. Listen here.
Crayon Full of Colour is due out in the UK on April 19.
I'd have to say it's got some Karen O under tones... fly.
