There’s a new Kate Nash album out, titled My Best Friend Is You, which has caused something of a critical stir by including a rap track. Is the world ready to hear Nash sing/rap lines like “I don't give a fuck about her, I want your name, I can get fucked like the best of men”? Surprisingly, it’s not quite as bad as it sounds.
Sadly, Nash neglected to perform that particular song on Jools Holland’s show last night (April 20). Instead, she opted for the lead single from My Best Friend Is You, “Do-Wah-Doo,” which is a barnstorming number, full of pointed horns and vocals spat out at a dizzy rate. Clearly, Kate Nash has got flow.
