From what I can gather, there's no set release date for Kardinal Offishall's forthcoming fifth album, Mr. International. I have read, however, that the record will be dropping on his own label, Black Stone Colleagues, and not Akon's Konvict Muzic imprint as originally planned. Perhaps that's why the Toronto native is apparently taking everything into his own hands here with the set of visuals for "The Anthem." The track is your typical hometown anthem, though it's not as poppy as, say, Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind." Rather, "The Anthem" is propelled by an epic-sounding beat and an energetic Offishall, who here takes us on a journey through T-Dot. For someone who's never been north of the border, this has me thinking I might need to book a plane ticket pretty soon.
Mr. International is due out soon.
