Kanye West: Robocop (Audio)
The fourth track from Kanye’s upcoming 808’s and Heartbreak, “Robocop” leaked this weekend, and like the Tears for Fears sampling “Coldest Winter,” it references the '80s: it uses Robocop as a metaphor for a lover who is all over your business. The track uses auto-tuner and huge sirens like they’re going out of style, but it feels like the weakest of the tracks from 808’s that have surfaced thus far.
Apparently, this version of the song isn’t the finished version, as Kanye took to his blog this weekend to write: "I DID NOT LEAK ROBOCOP!!!... THAT'S NOT EVEN THE FINISHED VERSION... I'M PRETTY UPSET ABOUT IT BUT THAT'S THE WAY LIFE IS SOMETIMES!” Jeesh. No need to shout dude.
808’s and Heartbreak is due out on November 25 via Def Jam. [Idolator]
