Even though he's not dropping his fifth album until November, Kanye West apparently wants to make sure he gets back on the music world's map in full force. He leaked a new track earlier this week, the celebratory "See Me Now," and last night he played a secret show at the Box in New York City to perform tracks both new ("Power") and somewhat older ("Can't Tell Me Nothing").
He also ran through some of his features on cuts like Slum Village's "Selfish" and Rick Ross' "Live Fast, Die Young" before giving those in attendance a taste of his forthcoming record's material. In the above video, Kanye tackles "Mama's Boyfriend" with some help from John Legend on the piano and it's one of those tracks that made Yeezy so personable on his first two albums. It's lyrically straightforward, slightly immature, and easy to relate to.
Kanye's still untitled fifth LP is due out Nov. 16.
