Really? Instead of going the usual route and making a big spectacle of the event on MTV or the web, Kanye West has chosen The Ellen DeGeneres Show to debut the video for "Love Lockdown," the first single from his Nov. 29 album 808s & Heartbreak. The exclusivity is sure to melt away by the end of the day but as of right now, the only place to see the video seems to be her site via a small "Video of the Day" player on the front page. As for the clip itself, Yeezy's typical artistic flare is in effect though the video itself feels more literal than many of his Graduation videos did. It's sure to be at least as popular as the massively popular song itself already is. [Ellen]
*Note: So apparently he'll be on the show today to do this a bit more officially and they've simply posted the video on the site early. The show is syndicated and will be playing by now in some places so they'll probably just leave it up. Still kinda weird...
Very strange, but I think it might be a good move for Kanye. The video is going to get aired on the usual shows and web sites. Ellen normally wouldn't air it.
I really like the video, even if I don't know what the hell it's about.

GREAT AND BEAUTIFULLY CREATED. IT REALLY SHOWS THE ARTISTIC SPIRITUAL AFRICAN CULTURE AND ALSO SHOWS WHAT LIFE WOULD BE WITHOUT THOSE COLORS. GREAT IDEA.
IT KIND OF REMINDS ME OF SOME OF MICHAEL JACKSON'S VIDEO CREATIVITY.

Good move for Kanye. The music business is all about the hustle. No one wants to fall off. If you don't change it up, at some point you're old news. The song caught the attention of both fans and opposers. Personally, I like it. The beat is good. I would have never guessed it was Kanye. As for the video, I agree with the other comment. I have no idea what the video is about.
