While a certain relatively young Canadian hip-hop act seemingly blew up over night on this side of the border, others have struggled to have the same kind of success. That's not to say that cats like Shad, Saukrates, Kardinal Offishall, and k-os haven't seen their fair share of praise and minor hits. It's just that they clearly have not received the kind of fame (OK, I'll name him) that Drake has enjoyed thus far. That being said, of course, lesser fame doesn't equate to a lower quality product. As seen above in the video for k-os's "Zambony," off the fantastic Yes! record, this rapper-singer can be simultaneously accessible and artsy. Oh, and he can actually sing without any studio tricks. I just hope his next album gets a proper push here in the U.S. because I still don't know where/if you can find Yes! around here.
