k-os: "I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman" ft. Nelly Furtado and Saukrates (Video)

· by

"I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman" is the third single off K-os' great Yes!, which is already out in Canada but drops Tuesday (Nov. 17) in the States. It's one of the better tracks on an album full of single-worthy cuts. It was apparently intended to be a Saukrates and Nelly Furtado collaboration that (thankfully) made its way onto Yes! at the last second. Producer Rich Kidd deserves some credit for flipping the painfully annoying O.C. theme (Phantom Planet's "California") and making it palatable. But what makes the track especially enjoyable is its catchy-as-hell hook full of harmonizing between K-os, Saukrates, and Furtado. The video isn't especially groundbreaking, but the song itself and bizarre pig/spacey ending make it worth our time. [Potholes In My Blog]

I totally agree. Has a great discography, plenty of good singles, and tons of talent. Ah well.

This is complete garbage, inane, devoid of any rhyme and meaning but then it's no surprise it's rap, which is nothing more than a place for talentless people who can't sing, can't play an instrument, can't write, can't arrange music to go to and make money for nothing less than nothing...

rap is garbage

ahahahhahah....

@Rap is garbage: Can't write and can't arrange music? Who's your favorite band there, pal? Because I guarantee you that, regardless of who they might be, they cannot hold a candle to the rap greats when it comes to lyricism. Because hip-hop is genre that places such a heavy emphasis, if you want any respect as a rapper, you better bring at least decent lyrics. If you don't like rap, that's one thing, but completely disregarding it as a form of artistic expression is another entirely.
