The Junior Boys Daytrotter recording session is online and ready for download. JB recorded two songs from their 2009 album, Begone Dull Care in the Iowa studio, "Bits and Pieces" and "The Animator." They also recorded "Birthday" from Last Exit. Daytrotter has put mp3s of these and all of their exclusive recordings online for free.

 

Says editor Sean Moeller of the duo, "They grab us softly by the wrists and glide us out onto the floor as if we were on rollers and caught up in some kind of tailwind that was gently affecting our stance to remain stationary and just get a respectable buzz on, moving us slowly out into the night of abandonment, into an evening that won't likely get us into any form of trouble that couldn't be corrected or blotched out."  

 

A literary website and recording studio, Daytrotter has been quietly putting out sessions for years. The site's archives are well-worth plundering for rare or never-released songs and lesser-known bands--a catalogue of indie music that has been curated with finesse.
