Julian Plenti: "Games for Days" (Live on Fallon) (Video)

· by

Paul Banks brought his best Richard Butler/David Bowie impression to Jimmy Fallon’s talk show on Friday (August 7), where he performed a track from his solo record, Julian Plenti is…Skyscraper. The video for “Games for Days” features Emily Haines from Metric, and was debuted last week.

It’s difficult to see where Banks is heading with the Julian Plenti project—it’s so close to his work with Interpol that it barely seems worth going through the effort of assembling a new, less sartorially elegant band. Fallon seems to like the idea of assuming a new persona, even referring to Banks as “Julian Plenti” at the close of the performance.

this performance was surprisingly bad considering how great interpol played live. I guess hired guns cant bring the same force kessler and carlos d.

That looks suspiciously like the Rapture's Mattie Safer on bass. Hired gun, maybe, but a damned good one.

Good eye Mark. That is Matt Safer from the Rapture. The guitarist is Mike Stroud from Ratatat too. Source: http://mixtapemuse.blogspot.com/2009/08/whoa-whoa-whoa-graham-tyler-and-matt.html

I was just going to say the guitarist looked the dude from Ratatat. So this is apparently what Safer left the Rapture for huh?
