Jonsi: "Ævin Endar"
We Bought a Zoo is the new film from Cameron Crowe, which features performances from Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson and a soundtrack from Jonsi of Sigur Ros. The track “Ævin Endar” has been released online, which is a slow-moving piece that fits neatly alongside the rest of Jonsi’s solo and group work. This is a mournful piece of piano balladry that draws on abstract sounds to complete the picture, although his voice is the central weight around which the song turns. Jonsi fans won’t find too many surprises here, but it will be interesting to see how his approach fits with the film. Check out “Ævin Endar” via OneThirtyBPM.
