Jonsi’s “Go Do” is the highlight of his recent album Go, and makes a perfectly appropriate choice of song for his latest contribution to Pitchfork’s Cemetery Gates series. His distinctive falsetto and pluckings of acoustic guitar are matched by minimal accompaniment from his band, and it’s difficult to imagine a better setting for Jonsi’s music than this old chapel. That’s the only drawback to Pitchfork’s largely excellent Cemetery Gates show—where do you go after performing in such hallowed surroundings? Perhaps Jonsi can match ZZ Top’s ambitions and be one of the first artists to perform in outer space.
