Alt-hip-hop family band WHY? unveils a new track today in preparation for its upcoming Mumps, Etc. “Jonathan’s Hope” finds frontman Yoni Wolf spitting about illness over a whistly beat. After years without a release the Oakland, California outfit still clearly has the offbeat style and neurosis that has always defined it.
The album, WHY?’s first since 2009’s Eskimo Snow, hits stores October 2 via Anticon. The preceding EP, Sod in the Seed, is out now. Check out Mumps, Etc.-track “Jonathan’s Hope” below. [Stereogum]
