The posthumous Johnny Cash releases continue later this month when Columbia puts out a rarities and bootlegs comp of Cash's work. Amongst the trove of demos and outtakes is this calm and slow-moving acoustic demo of "Walk the Line," Cash's breakout hit. It becomes clear how much having a full band, and the direction of Sun Records' Sam Phillips, helped Cash become who he became. Listen at Pitchfork.
Bootleg Vol 2 is due out on Feb 22.
