It's weird to see John Legend perform any of the tracks from Wake Up! without the Roots crew, but maybe since he performed in L.A. on Leno on the same night the Roots were ripping it up on Fallon. Plus Legend performed the most boring/only original track from said album, so it's not like the ?uesto needed to be banging the skins on this one; it's sort of like music you hear at an Easter brunch. Which is better, probably, than Legend's Starbucks soul normally, but still. Leno seemed to dig the hell out of it, though.
