Joell Ortiz: “Put Some Money On It” f. The Lox

Just a mini-update here regarding the situation surrounding Joell Ortiz's sophomore effort, Free Agent. The album apparently went up on Amazon yesterday for several hours before the site took it down. Free Agent is actually meant to drop on Feb. 1 of next year so hopefully this little mishap won't cause any issues for the Brooklyn rapper and one-fourth of Slaughterhouse. And while yesterday's leak, "Finish What You Started," was slightly disappointing, today's is the complete opposite. Ortiz and the Lox turn "Put Some Money On It" into an instant flashback to the mid-to-late '90s. All I hear when this spins is gritty New York City hip-hop and it's been a while since I've felt that way.

This isn't the first time Amazon blew through someone's release date. I wonder what kinda action artists are allowed to take when things like this happen.

I wonder if it's just Amazon's fault or the label's, too.
