As someone who pays his rent by cataloging all of the covers of Lil Wayne's "Lollipop" for your listening pleasure, I can say without fear of something better coming along, that jj's "Ecstasy" is the winner of the contest to use "Lollipop" for a band's own commercial means. The song flows like a glacier over a landscape, really just using the oscillating synths of the original and nothing else. Instead of a song about getting orally pleased, it's about taking ecstasy and drinking wine, which is probably a fair trade.
jj's No 2. is out now via Sincerely Yours. [Dutty Artz]
