It almost seemed inconceivable that there would be treasure trove of unreleased Hendrix material just sitting around for Sony Legacy to release, but there totally is: They're releasing Valleys of Neptune in March. Two weeks after the existence of said album was announced comes this, the album's title track, a jocular and upbeat roller that is streaming over at Spinner. The track was recorded in 1969, in between Hendrix breaking up the Experience and starting a new band with bassist Billy Cox, and you can sort of hear that here; it's not as heavy as the Experience material, and not as bluesy/funky as his later material with Cox.
Valleys of Neptune is due out on March 9.
