A little over a week ago, Harlem rapper Jim Jones was involved in a car accident and the van he was in was totaled. Lucky, he emerged alright, but not without the anxiety to rap about the experience. Hence, "Crash." It's a little like "Through the Wire" in its brush-with-death-inspiredrepentance, but I always enjoy hearing Jones feel jubilant on a track. He sounds sincere, and for good reason; car accidents are terrifying.
Now that he's okay, maybe that Diplomats reunion will finally happen.
Jones's fifth album, Capo, is currently due out March 22.
