Jens Lekman: "Cowboy Boots"

It will be four years this September since Jens Lekman released his acclaimed sophomore album, Night Fall Over Kortedala. Since then, the Swedish singer-songwriter has mostly stuck to touring, though we certainly hope he has also been in the studio working on his third record. And during one of his U.S. jaunts a few years ago, he brought along his good friend and comedian Tig Notaro.

Lekman introduced her to the team at Secretly Canadian, who went on to sign Notaro to release her debut, Good One, this August. She and Lekman linked up again recently to discuss sleep, music, and get all sorts of goofy on her new podcast, Professor Blastoff. They also played an unreleased track from the Swede called "Cowboy Boots," a dreamy, soothing cut he recorded live in the studio. As such, it features only his vocals and some acoustic guitar strumming, but it's likely he will flesh it out with dreamy samples whenever he takes put it on wax.
