Jay-Z performed "Empire State of Mind" at the second game of the World Series last night with Alicia Keyes in tow. The performance is mad echo-heavy, probably due to the whole having to sing in front of thousands of baseball nerds, but the Yankees seemed to really like it. One of them (I don't know any baseball player except for Pete Rose) even cuts flip-cam video, which I assume he'll post on his hip-hop blog. It's not like baseball takes up much of his time (am I right? Baseball games take like 43 hours to play, but most of the players are only really involved for about 11 minutes). [NahRight]

I was there, and the maaad bass heavy reverb was hype... the whole stadium was rumbling during the chorus, with Alicia's echoy voice... telling ya, even dorks were bobbin their head. |
