Los Angeles' Jay Rock is another one of those rappers who has been slowly gaining steam over the past few years but hasn't quite caught a proper break. Part of the reason for that is his proper debut, Follow Me Home, faced numerous delays in the hands of Warner Bros. But Rock ended up leaving the label last year for the greener pastures of Strange Music, an indie label co-founded by Tech N9ne.
And next week, Rock's debut will finally be released with a pretty damn impressive lineup of guests. Along with his cohorts in Black Hippy -- Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, and Ab-Soul -- Rock is joined by the likes of Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Tech N9ne, and Rick Ross. Ross appears here on the remix for "Hood Gon Love It," a J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League-produced celebratory anthem featuring some killer, but understated, horns. It also features a track-ended verse from (sigh) Birdman, whose boring presence isn't enough to ruin what Rozay and Rock started.
You can stream the track below. Follow Me Home drops July 26.
